Who sells and when these terms apply
The seller is MAGLASS S.r.l., owner of the Bottega Veneziana brand: via Venier 1, 30020 Marcon (Venice), Italy, VAT no. IT04434140275. For any question about orders, write to clienti@bottega-veneziana.com.
These terms apply to purchases made online in the Store of bottega-veneziana.com, that is, the pieces with a price and an "Add to cart" button.
They do not apply to made-to-measure pieces or to orders placed on a quotation: in those cases the terms written in the quotation accepted by the customer apply.
Anyone buying as a consumer (private individual) has the rights provided by the Italian Consumer Code, set out in these terms. Anyone buying as a professional or company, with a VAT number, does not have the right of withdrawal or the warranty of the Consumer Code; the rules in points 4 and 5 apply to them.
Prices, order and payment
Prices. Prices are in euro and include Italian VAT at 22%. In the cart and at checkout, VAT is shown on a separate line. Shipping costs are shown at checkout before payment and added to the total. Any discount codes are entered in the cart or at checkout.
When VAT does not apply.
- Companies in other European Union countries with a VAT number valid in the European VIES register: the sale is an intra-Community supply, VAT exempt under art. 41 of Italian Decree-Law 331/1993. The site checks the VAT number automatically during checkout and shows VAT at 0% with this wording.
- Shipments outside the European Union: the sale is an export, VAT exempt under art. 8 of Italian Presidential Decree 633/1972, with VAT at 0% shown in the cart and at checkout. Duties, local taxes and customs clearance costs in the country of arrival are borne by the customer, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
How the order is concluded. The contract is concluded when the customer confirms the order with the payment button and receives our confirmation email. The email contains the order summary and these terms.
Price or description errors. If a piece is published with a clearly wrong price or description, we notify the customer before shipping. The customer can confirm the order at the correct price or cancel it with a full refund.
Payment methods.
| Method | How it works |
|---|---|
| Credit or debit card | Payment on Stripe's secure page, with 3D Secure verification |
| PayPal | Payment on the PayPal website |
| Klarna | Payment in 3 interest-free instalments, under Klarna's terms |
| Bank transfer | Bank details sent by email; the piece is reserved for 3 working days; without payment within this period the order is cancelled |
We do not store card data: it is handled directly by Stripe, PayPal and Klarna.
Invoice. We issue an invoice for every order. For Italian customers the invoice is electronic: we ask private individuals for their tax code (codice fiscale), and companies for their VAT number and SDI code or PEC address.
Lead times, shipping and damaged pieces
Lead times. Every piece is handmade in our furnace in Venice. The order is shipped within 2-4 weeks of payment confirmation. If more time is needed we notify the customer by email.
Where we ship. Worldwide, by insured express courier. The cost depends on the delivery country and is shown at checkout.
Packaging. Every order travels in secure packaging, included in the price. For large pieces or special shipments we can propose a wooden crate, always as a separate cost and only with the customer's agreement.
Delivery. When the order ships, the customer receives the tracking number. The risk of loss or damage passes to the consumer when the piece is delivered to them.
If the piece arrives damaged.
- On delivery, if the parcel is visibly damaged, accept it with a written reservation on the courier's document.
- Within 48 hours of delivery, write to clienti@bottega-veneziana.com with photos of the parcel, the packaging and the piece.
- We open the claim with the courier and, at the customer's choice, remake the piece or refund the amount paid, at no cost to the customer.
The 48-hour limit is needed to handle the claim with the courier: for the consumer, the legal warranty protections in point 5 remain valid in any case.
Right of withdrawal
The consumer may withdraw from the purchase within 14 days of the day they receive the piece, without giving any reason.
How to do it.
- Notify us within the 14 days at clienti@bottega-veneziana.com, using the form below or an explicit statement.
- Send the piece back within a further 14 days to MAGLASS S.r.l., via Venier 1, 30020 Marcon (VE), Italy, in the original packaging or in equally protective packaging.
- The return costs are borne by the customer, and the customer is liable for damage caused by inadequate packaging.
Refund. We refund the price of the piece and the initial shipping costs, up to the cost of standard shipping, within 14 days of the day we receive the withdrawal notice. We may wait until we receive the piece before refunding. The refund uses the same payment method as the purchase.
Condition of the piece. The piece must be returned intact, complete and not permanently installed. If the piece has been handled beyond what is needed to check it, we may reduce the refund in proportion to the reduced value.
When withdrawal does not apply.
- Made-to-measure or personalised pieces made at the customer's request (sizes, colours, finishes or compositions different from the catalogue).
- Purchases made as a professional or company.

Warranty, personal data and applicable law
Legal warranty for consumers. Every piece is covered by the legal warranty of conformity of 2 years from delivery, provided by the Italian Consumer Code. In case of a defect the consumer is entitled to repair or replacement free of charge and, if these are not possible, to a price reduction or termination of the contract. Defects must be reported to clienti@bottega-veneziana.com.
What is not a defect. Hot-blown and hot-shaped Murano glass is made by hand: small bubbles and variations in colour and shape from one piece to another are part of the craft. Breakage from knocks or falls after delivery, installation not in line with the instructions and the use of bulbs other than those indicated are not covered.
Professionals and companies. For purchases with a VAT number, defects must be reported within 8 days of discovery, under the Italian Civil Code.
Personal data. We process the customer's data to manage the order, shipping, invoice and assistance, as described in the privacy notice. Newsletters are sent only with a separate consent.
Law and jurisdiction. The contract is governed by Italian law. For the consumer, the competent court is that of their place of residence; more favourable rules of their own country remain unaffected. For professionals the competent court is Venice.
