— IN DEPTH
The Arse and Astrid chandeliers in hand-blown Venetian glass were installed in a private residence in Concord, California, completing the project curated by Studio BottegaVE in 2020.
The choice of these two models responds to a need for balance between volumes and transparency: Arse and Astrid dialogue in the domestic space with distinct forms that complement each other. The hand-blown glass, worked according to Murano techniques, transmits light in a diffused way, creating atmospheres that vary depending on the time of day and light intensity.
Each chandelier is created piece by piece in the Venetian furnace, where molten glass is shaped by the craftsman. The quality of the raw material and the control of cooling times determine the transparency and final color of each element. The light passing through Murano glass acquires a depth that industrial materials cannot replicate, characterizing the environment with a discreet yet significant presence.
