— IN DEPTH
Venetian lanterns are among the oldest figures of Venice's lighting: born for porticoes and entrance halls, they keep their metal-cage structure with blown glass within. In this installation, a series of amber-glass lanterns hangs from the portico of a private penthouse in Verona, accompanying the view over the tree-lined terrace.
The amber tone of the glass filters natural light during the day, returning a warm glow in the hours of sunset. The burnished metal cage echoes the exposed-brick frame of the portico, building a continuity of material between the object and the architecture that holds it.
