— IN DEPTH

For the Council Hall of the Basilica of Sant'Elena in Birkirkara, a sixteenth-century church in Malta, a Rezzonico chandelier was designed beyond the catalogue scale, sized to the height of the hall. The arms, the overall height and the number of lights were adapted to the volume of the architecture.

The structure is in amber Venetian glass. To the classic Rezzonico details are added polychrome glass-paste flower inserts that echo the palette of the church's frescoes and marbles, while the warm temperature of the glass converses with the building's golden stone.
